Privacy
What this site stores, and what it does not load.
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service. It does not use cookies or track individuals across sites. It measures page views and performance in aggregate. It is not run for visitors in the EU.
- We use Google Analytics for visitors outside the EU and the UK (measurement ID G-H5PDVVM7PB). The tag is not loaded for visitors in the EU or the UK, or when the country cannot be determined. Where it runs, it records pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser info, and the referrer. It uses cookies or similar identifiers. Google processes this data. - Voting sets one random id cookie. We store only a salted hash of it, to stop duplicate votes.
- Newsletter sign-ups are stored as a waitlist. We do not send email yet, so there is no confirmation message and no unsubscribe step.
- Submissions, including an optional email address, are kept for review.
- Buy and retailer links on this site go through /go/. We count each click with the site, the item and the time. For a retailer link we also note which of the item's links was used. For a buy link we also keep any utm_source, utm_campaign or utm_content in the link. We keep at most the first 64 characters, and only if they use letters, numbers, dots, underscores or hyphens; otherwise we drop the value. We do not store your IP address, browser or cookies with that count.
- Some tool logos load from a third-party address stored with the listing, such as icons.duckduckgo.com or google.com. Your browser requests that host directly.
